A Modern, Lush Wedding at Huguenot Loft

Jason proposed at Hotel Domestique on July 21st and it was the dreamiest moment. When we first started talking about getting married, we decided that we would date a year (why do people let this stigma dictate their choices!?) before getting engaged. I'm so glad Jason Motte had other plans. He told me we were going away for a surprise weekend but assured me we would not be getting engaged and to not get my hopes up because it definitely was not happening. So of course I believed him--haha! He told me we were heading somewhere that I had mentioned that I wanted to go, so I started thinking Grove Park Inn, Old Edwards Inn, and Hotel Domestique. We zoomed away and as soon as we turned off the main road I knew we were headed for Hotel Domestique. I was so excited and remember thinking "Should I have gotten my nails done?...Nah!" We pull in and Jason gets out of the car and immediately walks away, leaving me in the dust, which he knows I hate but I was trying to be calm and thankful we we were at HD. We went to check in and were told we were good and didn't need to do anything (first major hint) so we went to the bar where we grabbed a drink before dinner. We chatted with this couple before heading out to the terrace that kept telling us we should get married because we would have beautiful kids!! (I can only imagine what is going through Jason's mind at this point!) Another hint? The bartender didn't ask us to start a tab or what room we were in. Moving on, we moved out to the terrace with our drinks and sat down. Jason was pretty antsy at this point, but he has a lot of energy, so nothing too out of the normal. I was getting ready to take a picture and Jason told me my last surprise was coming and all I could think was "I already have a drink! What's next!" He pointed and told me to look over who was here and I saw my best friend Lyndsey and her husband Ryan and at that point I knew. Lyndsey was the only one in on his proposal plan and they were there to take pictures. I'm pretty sure at this point my legs forgot how to work and my voice was all over the place. Jason walked me over to a specific spot, got down on one knee, told me he loved me and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and BAM! we were engaged. It was amazing.

Planning our wedding was an incredible experience. We experienced highs and lows and grew along the way. I researched a few Greenville based wedding planners and had a few calls and meetings and we decided that Upstate I Do best fit our personalities and visions for the day. Bri is an absolute gem and was just the best to work with. She walked us through every step of the way, providing support, advice, friendship, and love. Jason and I both felt so comfortable with her and knew she would go to great lengths to make sure our wedding day was what we wanted. We trusted her with every detail and she went above and beyond. We love Bri!

What. A. Whirlwind. People tell you to take it in and enjoy each moment. It really does go by so fast. I woke up that morning to a call from Jason and it was the perfect way to start the day. I got ready at The Beautiful Company with my bridesmaids and family. It was such a relaxed environment where I got to soak up time with the people I love the most and the people who loved me from the start. After getting dressed and ready, we headed to the Courtyard Marriott so Jason and I could do our "First Not Look." What a moment I will forever cherish to hear his voice and hold his hand. We were both so ready to do the damn thing! We had the best time celebrating with our family and friends after the Ceremony. After a quick trip to the Grover Park Inn right after our wedding weekend, we took our grand honeymoon adventure to the Patagonia region of Chile in South America. It was magical to experience such a wild, uninhabited place with my husband!
